Trailer Ideas and reference
Silent hilll 4 the room trailer, takes on a more psychological wtf kinda of approach to the trailer, uses alot of high contrast values to confuse and distort the images creating the more psychological horror effect. a mix of long and short cut shots showing lot of movements of enemies in various creepy ways, the music gives way to the feel of the trailer by creating an atmosphere of sadness and depression emotional play to enhance the psychological aspect of the game and trailer.

Alan wake trailer shows a similar approach to the short cut shots but uses a more direct approach to the shots and is more narratively driven, the video effects are kept to a minimum to retain the original look of the game throughout the trailer, no enemies are shown in the trailer apart from sounds and background noise, which give the audience a sense of anticipation and interest, similar to how some movies use that techinque to keep the audience hooked and fear the enemy more (like cloverfield for example)

Dead space trailer uses a mix of effective horror techniques, the use of a soft almost innocent yet creepy music combined with slow panning shots of environments that show alot of horror or death and gore, then gradually as the trailer goes on the frequent cut shots of intense in your face horror pops in to shock the audience.
